A book on dogs and working dogs. This book, first published in 2006, (like the author), is rather special. 25% from the sale of each book will be donated to the work of Canine Partners. Apart from being lavishly illustrated, this book will both inform and move you.
You would be a very hard person indeed if you could read of the personal experiences enclosed without shedding at least one tear! The eleven chapters of the book include myriad stories about dogs, their achievements and the ways in which they have literally transformed the lives of individuals. But there are also insightful accounts on tips and techniques for selecting a breed and knowing about and caring for dogs, in this glossy coffee table edition. A little about the author - Nina Bondarenko was, for some years, the Director of Canine Training Development for the UK national charity Canine Partners which provides highly-trained dogs to help people with disabilities.
Starting life in Australia, Nina has travelled all over the world, learning about dogs and teaching others - from Police Dog Handlers to pet owners. She has judged internationally, demonstrated for HM The Queen and for fifteen years helped build and develop the Canine Partners charity, a member of Assistance Dogs International and a leader in the Assistance Dog field. She is an internationally renowned lecturer, educator and trainer of dogs.
A consultant for the International Association of Animal Behaviour Counsellors, Nina is also the presenter of the training video 'Understanding and Training your Puppy'. Her advice is sought all over the world. Author - Nina Bondarenko
